Lepe and Exbury

This coastal route will let you enjoy the gorgeous views out over the Solent and the Isle of Wight. Breath in the fresh sea air as you make your way alongside the beach and then cut up into Lepe Country Park and into Blackfield. You’ll see plenty of coastal wildlife on the way and get a spectacular view of the Needles! Notable stops along the way can include a drink and a bite to eat in the Country Park café or a wander around the lovely Exbury Gardens.

Brockenhurst to Lyndhurst

This route takes you from the small town of Brockenhurst to the New Forest’s capital, Lyndhurst. Along the way, you’ll pass through picturesque ancient woodland and also pass by New Park, where the New Forest Show is held each summer. Stop for lunch in Lyndhurst for an energy boost before continuing on your way around the circular route back to Brockenhurst.

Burley Hill Fort

The Burley Hill Fort route is steeped in history. You’ll begin at the Queen’s Head Pub where infamous smugglers, the Warne siblings, would hide from the authorities. Then the Burley Hill Fort itself, dates from the iron age. The route will take you out and around Burley and makes use of roads and cycle paths so it’s an easy route for those who don’t want to go off-road.

Rhinefield Ornamental Woodland

This route takes you Northwest out of Brockenhurst and into the tall trees trail of Blackwater. This part of the Forest looks like a magical woodland straight out of a fairy-tale. With towering Douglas firs and even taller redwood trees, the woodland canopy here is something to marvel at as you explore. This is definitely one for families looking for an adventure!

Northern Forest Circular

A long route for those who want a real adventure, the Northern Forest Circular Route will take you from the outskirts of Ringwood out into the Forest’s wilderness and back again. Along the way, you’ll see many spectacular vistas across the wide-open heathland as you traverse up ridges and down into wooded valleys. It may be a bit more of an endurance route, but what you’ll see along the way will be well worth it.
