BOOKING

How do I cancel my booking?
Please call 01590 631641 or email us at [email protected] to cancel a booking.

 

Do you offer refunds if I cancel?

Yes, we offer refunds according to the below:

15+ days before arrival – Full refund less deposit

0 – 14 days before arrival – No refund

If you leave site early for any reason Camping New Forest will not issue any refund for unused camping nights.

Chargeable pitch extras are fully refundable prior to 14 days of arrival, and non-refundable thereafter.

Please note that we are unable to offer refunds for cancellations due to inclement weather, transportation failure, non-arrival of party members or illness. The same policy applies if you decide to shorten your stay for any reason.

 

Can I amend my booking?

If you wish to amend your booking, you must notify Camping New Forest as soon as possible. Subject to availability, amendments to your booking can be made up to seven days before your arrival at the Site, unless the amendment increases the total cost of the booking, and the dates remain. One amendment to each booking can be made free of charge and a £10.00 administration fee per amendment will be applied thereafter. Amendments are subject to availability and date changes must be within the same season.

 

How do I make payment?
Payment can be made over the phone or via a link in your confirmation email. We do not keep any card details on file.

 

Is my deposit refundable or transferrable?
No, deposits cannot be refunded or transferred to other bookings.

 

Can I book a campsite without facilities and go to another campsite that has facilities?
We only allow you to use the facilities on the campsite you have booked and paid for.

 

I paid a different price to my friend for the same pitch, am I due a refund?

Although prices may vary from time-to-time, the price payable is the price confirmed at the time of booking. Customers are advised to check the website for the most up to date information including our latest promotions, deals and discounts.

 

If I book online, how do I know what availability you have?

When you book online, you will have to search for pitch availability on the campsite you are viewing. You can enter your type of accommodation, arrival date and no. of nights you want to stay and how many people are coming with you.

You can also set a flexible number of days from your entered arrival date to see similar booking options.

Once you’ve pressed search, you will be presented with all of the available pitch options that meet your entered criteria. Any absent results are not available according to your search criteria.

How do I book if I am backpacking?

Backpackers do not need to pre-book. Please book in person at the campsite reception. A backpacker is defined as a camper who arrives on site by foot or by bicycle, but not by any form of motorised vehicle.

 

 

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

What time is check in and departure?
Check in is from 1pm until 8pm. Departure is by 11am. If you are going to be later than 8pm, please contact the campsite directly and they will advise you of the late arrival’s procedure.

 

Can I book late check out?
Yes, late check out can be booked for a small fee and allows you to stay until 5pm. This is available at all our campsites subject to availability.

 

What time do the gates open and close?
The gates open at 7.30am and closed at 10.00pm.

 

Can I arrive later than 8pm?

Yes. If you cannot check in before 8pm, please contact the site directly and they will advise you of the late arrival’s procedure.

 

Can I sleep in my car?
Sleeping in cars or vans is not permitted unless the vehicle has side windows, sufficient ventilation, and specially designed internal sleeping accommodation, such as fully reclining seats. A tent attachment for clothes changing purposes must be erected whenever a car/van is being used for sleeping purposes. Any windows in such units should have adequate curtains or blinds to ensure privacy. If you are in any doubt whether your vehicle will be allowed on our sites, please contact us with photos of your conversion for approval via email to the campsite directly.

 

 

PITCHES

Can I pitch with my family and friends?
Yes. Most sites let you choose your own pitch. Holmsley and Setthorns allocate certain pitches as they have electric hook up. If you want to pitch with friends/family, then you would need the same type of pitch as the different pitches will be in different locations on site.

 

Do all your pitches have electric hook up?
Only our Holmsley and Setthorns sites have electric hook up.

 

Can I only book one pitch online?
Yes, you can only book one pitch for one unit online.

 

Can I pitch a tent on hardstanding?

Yes you can apart from Holmsley and Ocknell. We recommend rock pegs for use on hard surfaces.

 

Can I camp in a Bivvy?
Yes, you can camp in a Bivvy if the unit has sides, and no other campers can see inside. This is for both your privacy and the other campers.

 

Can I tie a hammock to the trees?
No. Structures cannot be tied or secured to trees or vegetation, this includes washing lines, football nets, hammocks, and rope swings. Any structures that are or are judged to be causing damage to the site will be taken down or removed.

 

Can I have a day visitor?
Yes. We allow day visitors for a small fee – this can be pre-booked or booked at the site reception.

 

What is a superior pitch?
It is a large pitch with electric hook-up and a picnic bench. The main unit and all ancillary units must fit within the pitch boundary, including guy ropes. Pitch size: 10m x 10m

 

Can I have a pup tent?

Yes, one Pup tent is included in the price of a unit. It must be no larger than 2m x 1.5m. Pup tents may only be used by up to two children from 9 years to 15 years and the tent must be erected in the boundary of the pitch of the accompanying unit.

 

What is the size of a standard pitch?

Pitch sizes can vary depending on site and type of pitch. Please refer to individual site.

 

What if my tent is bigger than the pitch size?

If your unit is larger than the size of your pitch, then you may be asked to pay for an additional pitch.

 

FIRES & BBQs

Do you allow BBQs?
Charcoal and gas BBQs are allowed on our campsites for cooking purposes only, providing they are raised off the ground and not used inside enclosed spaces. BBQs must be extinguished by 9pm. PLEASE NOTE DISPOSABLE BBQs ARE PROHIBITED ON ALL SITES. 

 

Can I have a fire pit?
No. To protect our forests, the burning of wood is strictly prohibited – this means no open fires, no campfires, and no fire pits of any kind.

 

FACILITIES

Do I need a toilet to stay at the campsites with no facilities?
Yes, you will need a chemical toilet. If you do not, we can move you to a site with toilets and you would have to pay the extra cost. We will not issue refunds if you are not allowed on site due to no toilet.

 

GENERAL

Do you allow dogs at your campsites?
Yes, we welcome dogs at all our campsites apart from Ashurst and Denny Wood due to the protection of ground-nesting birds. We do not accept any dogs banned under the dangerous dogs act of 1991.

 

Can I have a sign written van onsite?
Sign written towing vehicles are permitted on site provided campers are not trading or working from site, however you may be asked to park your vehicle away from the pitch.

 

Why have you stopped the over 60’s discount?
Camping New Forest reviews  the pricing structure on a regular basis to make sure all our campsites are affordable for all age groups.  Any special offers will be announced via our newsletter or social media pages.

 

Do you have freezer block exchange?
Some of our campsites will do freezer block exchange. Please contact the site you are staying at directly for more information.

 

DISCOUNT CODES

Can I add a discount code to an existing booking?
No, discounts can only be applied at time of booking online.

 

Can I apply two discount codes?
No, only one discount per booking. This also includes the single person discount.

 

DOGS

Can I bring my dog with me?

At most sites yes. However, Denny Wood and Ashurst are dog free sites (except for assistance dogs), this is to protect the ground nesting birds that live here.

Please note, you cannot bring any banned breeds of dog to any of the sites, even with a certificate of exemption.
