Accessible Camping in the New Forest: Facilities at Our Campsites

A guide to accessible facilities across Camping New Forest campsites, helping you plan a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Camping should be something everyone can enjoy. At Camping New Forest, we’re committed to making our campsites as welcoming and accessible as possible, so more people can experience the beauty of the New Forest.

So, if you’re planning your first stay or returning for another visit, here’s a clear guide to the accessible facilities available across our campsites.

Accessible Facilities at Holmsley Campsite

Holmsley Campsite has recently been refurbished and offers a range of accessible features for guests. There’s a unisex accessible toilet and shower room located in the middle amenities block, next to the play area. This facility includes both toilet and shower access in one space. Access is available using a RADAR key – if you don’t have one, a key can be provided at reception. This central location makes it easy to reach from many areas of the campsite, particularly for families staying nearby.

Accessible Facilities at Long Meadow Campsite

At Long Meadow Campsite our main facilities block includes a unisex accessible toilet equipped with an emergency alarm system. Access is via a RADAR key, and we’re happy to provide one for campers to use during their stay. Both the men’s and women’s shower and toilet blocks feature accessible showers complete with grab rails, fold-down seating, and emergency alarms. Each block also includes an accessible toilet with an outward-opening door, providing additional space and easier access for guests with mobility requirements. Getting around is also made easier with a ramp leading into the main facilities, complete with sturdy handrails for added support.

Our field toilet and shower facilities have also been designed with accessibility in mind. The toilet doors open outwards to improve access, although there is a small step into the facilities. The shower blocks are unisex and each includes a shower chair, with two showers per block – making them especially convenient for families. All facilities are equipped with sanitary and medical waste disposal bins for guests’ convenience.

In reception, we have a low-level, wheelchair-accessible desk to make checking in, making payments, and speaking with our friendly team as comfortable and straightforward as possible.

Long Meadow is a popular choice for its relaxed layout and proximity to Brockenhurst, making it a great base for exploring the New Forest.

Accessible Facilities at Roundhill Campsite

If you’re looking for a quieter, more traditional woodland camping experience with accessible options, Roundhill Campsite is a great choice as it is a mostly flat site. There’s one disabled toilet and a shower wetroom which is a unisex facility at our main block in the middle of the park. This features an access ramp, and keys are available from reception on request.

There’s a network of roads throughout the park making access available to all areas, and the glamping pods are also accessible as you can park right next to them!

Accessible Facilities at Ashurst Campsite

Site accessibility is good at our Ashurst Campsite, with both ends of the toilets being accessible, as is the potwash and laundry.

We also have a dedicated family and accessible bathroom available for guests. This room doesn’t require a RADAR key and is kept unlocked whenever it’s not in use, making it easy to access when needed. Inside, you’ll find a disabled toilet, a shower with a built-in seat, and baby changing facilities, creating a comfortable, practical space for families with young children as well as guests who require additional accessibility features.
