We’re pleased to share an update that comes directly from the valuable feedback we received from campers throughout this season. After carefully reviewing our generator policy and considering how we can best balance convenience, tranquillity and environmental responsibility, we’ve made a few important changes.
What’s Changing in 2026?
From 26 March 2026, fuel-driven generators will only be permitted at the following campsites, and during a designated window of 11am to 1pm:
At Aldridge Hill, Denny Wood, Longbeech and Matley Wood, fuel-driven generators will no longer be permitted from this date onwards. These sites are some of our most peaceful locations and are particularly sensitive to noise and wildlife disturbance, so this change helps us preserve the unique atmosphere you love.

Looking Ahead to 2027
As part of our wider sustainability goals, we plan to move away from fuel-driven generator use entirely. From April 2027, all of our campsites will become generator-free. This is a significant step towards creating quieter, cleaner and more wildlife-friendly spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Need Power During Your Stay?
We’ve got you covered. You can charge batteries at reception on site, and we also offer Jackery hire (at select campsites) for those who need a reliable off-grid option for a short stay. We also have electric pitch options at Setthorns & Holmsley.
