Camping New Forest 2026: Reopening with Upgrades

Camping New Forest campsites reopen from the 26th March 2026 following winter improvements, including upgraded facilities, more glamping tents and sustainability upgrades across several locations.

Camping New Forest is well underway preparing to welcome visitors back for the 2026 season, with campsites reopening from 26th March following a winter of improvements across several sites. The team has invested in a range of upgrades designed to improve comfort, sustainability and the overall camping experience. So if you’re returning for another stay or planning your first trip to the New Forest, visitors can expect refreshed facilities and new additions across several of our New Forest campsites.

Improvements Across the Campsites

A number of sites have received upgrades over the winter to make stays even more comfortable.

Ashurst Campsite features refurbished toilets, additional shower facilities, and an upgraded boiler system to ensure a reliable supply of hot water. An electric vehicle charging point has also been installed at reception, alongside additional glamping bell tents for those looking for a more comfortable camping experience.

At Hollands Wood Campsite, new solar lighting has been introduced along with expanded phone charging facilities. The campsite has also increased its number of glamping bell tents, offering more options for visitors who want to enjoy the forest with a few extra comforts.

Holmsley Campsite has seen several family-focused improvements. The facilities block now includes family shower cubicles and a refurbished accessible facility. The recently upgraded play area has also been expanded, with new features including a lookout post, fireman’s pole and sand play zone, making it an even better base for families visiting the New Forest.

Roundhill Campsite has improved its washing up facilities, providing more hot water on demand for campers cleaning up after preparing meals following a day exploring the forest.

Supporting Sustainability

Alongside the guest-focused upgrades, Camping New Forest has continued to invest in improvements that support the environment. New bin compounds have been installed across the campsites to improve recycling and waste management, while upgraded eco-friendly foam soap dispensers help reduce water usage. Roads and pathways across the sites have also been repaired where needed to improve accessibility for visitors.

The Return of Denny Wood Campsite

The 2026 season also sees the reopening of Denny Wood Campsite, which had a fallow year during 2025.

Denny Wood will return this year offering its much-loved back-to-nature camping experience, surrounded by the open forest and ancient woodland that make this part of the New Forest National Park so special.

Camping Season Returns to the New Forest
